Search for:
Lots of things in here for:
  • Free text anywhere in the metadata document,
  • A multiple list to choose which hierarchy level to search (should the default be all or dataset and series?),
  • A multiple list to choose which profile for which the returned metadata complies with in the search,
    • If many profiles are selected then the available fields that are presented for advanced search is determined by the fields that are common to all the selected profiles.
  • Free text search on some other character string elements, eg. Abstract, title, fileIdentifier,
  • Select a spatial area by:
    • Enter latitudes and longitudes in four HTML text entry areas for the bounding box,
    • Select a bounding box via lists of Geographic Extent Names, or
    • Draw a bounding box on the map image.
    • In the case of the last two options coordinates that represent the selected area will be entered into the latitudes and longitudes text areas.
  • Select ANZLIC Search words,
  • Select ISO 19115 topic Categories
      Client side code (JavaScript or Xforms) that automatically select items in one HTML select list (ANZLIC Search Words) when an item is selected in another HTML select list (topicCategory). This will be passed to the ASDD nodes in a zquery based on the correct Z3950 relation attributes. Files will be provided which identify which topic categories relate to which ANZLIC Search Words and visa versa.
  • Select which ASDD nodes to search,
  • Select presentation type i.e. HTML, XML or SUTRS,
  • Date search on dateStamp, metadata date, beginning date and / or ending date.

The ASDD is an essential component of the Australian Spatial Data Infrastructure (ASDI). The gateway to the ASDD is maintained by Geoscience Australia on behalf of ANZLIC - the Spatial Information Council, as part of its broader Australian Government responsibility for the ASDI.
The individual ASDD nodes are implemented by State/Territory jurisdictions, Australian Government agencies, and commercial organisations (for details see all node descriptions). It is the responsibility of individual nodes to maintain their own metadata and nodes in accordance with the ANZLIC Metadata Guidelines and the ASDD Requirements and Standards.
